Fact Sheet Excerpts
Course Highlights
Located in the breathtaking Greater Zion region of southwestern Utah, Black Desert Resort stands as a premier golf destination. The all-new luxury resort is anchored by a 19-hole championship course, designed by the legendary Tom Weiskopf, marking his 73rd and final masterpiece. The award-winning course seamlessly blends ancient basalt rock formations with lush fairways and vibrant vermilion sandstone cliffs, offering a unique and visually striking experience. Spanning 7,500 yards, the course is expertly crafted to cater to golfers of all skill levels, showcasing forgiving fairways, pristine greens, and strategically placed landing areas ranging from 70 to 100 yards. The experience is further enhanced by dedicated CADDIMASTER four caddies, GPS-equipped carts with hole-by-hole commentary from Weiskopf, fully inclusive on-course food and non-alcoholic beverages, a cutting-edge driving range powered by TRACKMAN technology, and a 2-acre, 36-hole putting green. As one of only two courses in the U.S. to host both PGA and LPGA Tour events annually, Black Desert Resort is redefining the standard for world-class golf.
LPGA
From April 18 through May 4, 2025, Black Desert Resort will host the LPGA Tour and provide equal access and opportunities for all athletes. A few ways in which Black Desert Resort is leveling the playing field for all athletes include:
- Black Desert Resort will provide flights for LPGA players via a private plane from the preceding tournament.
- Ground transportation will be provided for all players (typically not commensurate for LPGA players).
- Black Desert Resort will cover meals and accommodations for the women participating in its LPGA Tour.
Impact for Change
In a commitment to enhancing the tournament experience, Black Desert Resort has partnered with Utah-based SkyWest Airlines to offer complimentary private charter flights for all players and one guest traveling from the previous week’s tournament site. Additionally, all players will enjoy complimentary luxury accommodations at Black Desert Resort throughout tournament week. Notably, the Black Desert Championship will be the only domestic LPGA event in 2025 to provide private charter flights, emphasizing the resort’s dedication to supporting athletes beyond the course and reinforcing its promise to improve the experience for female athletes while ensuring equitable support for all competitors, regardless of gender.
